On March 16, the 16th China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Conference, hosted by the China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association, took place in Beijing. As part of the event, the 2024 Award for China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation and Promotion were presented to recognize institutions and individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing collaboration between industry, academia, and research.

Among the recipients, Professor Xiao Jianzhuang from Guangxi University’s School of Civil Engineering and Architecture was awarded the Scientific and Technological Innovation Figure Award for his pioneering work in recycled concrete and strengthening industry-academia-research partnerships.

Additionally, Associate Professor Zhen Zhi from the same school received the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements for his research on Time-dependent Degradation Mechanisms and Predictive Control Technologies for Anchored Rock Masses in Complex Underground Environments.

In the field of agricultural science, Professor Zhao Yunxiang from the School of Animal Science and Technology led a project on Intelligent and High-efficiency Breeding Technology for Pigs, which earned the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements.

Moreover, three other research projects won the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements, with contributions from Professor Tian Zhiqun (8th in ranking) from the School of Physical Science and Technology, Professor Zhao Shuangliang (3rd in ranking) from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Associate Professor Feng Maogui (2nd in ranking) from the School of Agriculture.
