Li Guozhong welcomed Nguyen Ngoc Hieu and his entourage. He said that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam, as well as the Year of People-to-People Exchanges between China and Vietnam. Guangxi University implements the spirit of the Central Committee's Peripheral Work Conference and the spirit of the General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech during his state visit to Vietnam, and actively promotes exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese universities. Guangxi University has a close relationship with Vietnamese education, and Guangxi Nanning Yucai School (Vietnamese Central School Zone) once ran a school here, and Chairman Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam delivered an important speech to teachers and students in front of GXU's current auditorium. In 1958, Guangxi University was rebuilt on the site of Yucai School. Nghe An Province is the hometown of Chairman Ho Chi Minh. This unique historical relationship has become an important cornerstone of the cooperation between the two universities. Li Guozhong further introduced the key disciplines of Guangxi University, saying that the university has a complete range of disciplines and rich scientific research and teaching resources, and hoped that the two sides will give full play to their disciplinary advantages, deepen cooperation in the fields of mutual visits between teachers and students, talent training, scientific and technological innovation, and contribute to the construction of a strategic China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

President Nguyen Ngoc Hieu expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended by Guangxi University and introduced NGHE AN University's disciplinary strengths and institutional development plans. He emphasized that Guangxi University is NGHE AN University's first Chinese partner, highlighting the high priority placed on bilateral collaboration. President Nguyen proposed deep integration in flagship disciplines to pool resources and leverage complementary strengths, fostering mutual advancement. Noting the concentration of Chinese enterprises in Nghe An Province and frequent Chinese-Vietnamese economic exchanges, he stressed that the partnership should extend beyond academic collaboration and talent cultivation to establish innovation-oriented platforms serving corporate development. By integrating educational and research resources, both universities could provide regional enterprises with a robust talent support and technological empowerment. President Nguyen formally invited Guangxi University's leadership to lead a delegation to Vietnam for on-site discussions on deepening cooperation.

During the symposium, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on jointly establishing a language training center, creating collaborative laboratories, initiating joint research programs, implementing a long-term faculty-student exchange mechanism, and facilitating mutual faculty deployments. Xiao Jianzhuang and Nguyen Ngoc Hieu signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective institutions.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Exhibition Hall at the historic Great Hall of the former Yucai School (Vietnamese Central School Zone) on Guangxi University's West Campus, reviewing the profound historic friendship between China and Vietnam through this cultural heritage site.
