On June 3, the inauguration ceremony of the Guangxi University Laos Alumni Home was held in Vientiane. Yu Wenjin, Vice President of GXU, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.

Yu Wenjin extended sincere greetings to all alumni rooted in Laos. He stated that Guangxi University, leveraging its geographical advantages, has continuously provided high-quality talent to Laos, with a large number of graduates becoming backbone forces in Laos' economic construction and political development. The establishment of the Alumni Home in Laos aims to build a platform for regular contact and exchange between the alma mater and alumni in Laos, creating a warm harbor for overseas alumni to connect with their roots, share resources, and help each other. The university will continue to leverage the alumni platform to deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields such as science and education, talent, and economy and trade between China and Laos, helping to improve and upgrade the university's international education. He sincerely invited Lao alumni to organize return visits to their alma mater during the centennial celebration to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the university together.
Song Bolong, President of the Laos Alumni Association, expressed gratitude to the alma mater on behalf of the alumni in Laos and introduced the daily contact and mutual assistance among Lao alumni. He stated that the Laos Alumni Association will rely on the Alumni Home to play a bridging role, unite alumni from all walks of life, actively promote non-governmental friendly exchanges between China and Laos, and continue to facilitate pragmatic results such as school-enterprise cooperation, teacher-student exchanges, and project implementation.
Attending alumni offered suggestions on topics such as international student cultivation and the implementation of industry-university-research projects. Everyone stated that the Alumni Home gives Lao alumni an exclusive spiritual home, and in the future, they will rely on it to help each other and serve as non-governmental envoys for friendly exchanges between China and Laos.
It is reported that this is the third overseas Alumni Home established by the university following those in Thailand and Vietnam, marking the further improvement of Guangxi University's overseas alumni contact network in the ASEAN region.
