On May 17, Guangxi University officially released version 1.0 of its “Wenfanyue Viet-Thai Translation” large model at the 2026 Annual Conference of the Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI) Education. The launch ceremony was attended by Yang Jianping, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Asia-Pacific Communication Center of China International Communications Group (CICG); Fu Yuanfang, Deputy Director General of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Liu Xiang, Vice President of Guangxi University; and Liu Jun, Associate Professor and leading expert of the Intelligent Language Processing Laboratory at the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Guangxi University.

The “Wenfanyue Viet-Thai Translation” large model was independently developed by the Intelligent Language Processing Laboratory team at the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Guangxi University. It is an intelligent translation system specifically designed to support Vietnamese and Thai translation teaching activities. Built on a high-quality translation architecture based on a multi-step optimization mechanism, the system integrates distinctive features such as automatic term extraction, intelligent post-editing, and multi-dimensional translation quality evaluation, delivering a high-quality experience for both Chinese-Vietnamese and Chinese-Thai translation.
