Founded in 1928, Guangxi University (GXU) is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi, which is known as the "Green City of China". It is the only national "211 Project" university in Guangxi, as well as being a "double first-class" construction university, and the co-construction university of the Ministry of Education and People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

GXU covers an area of more than 21,400 mu (approximately 14,266,666 square meters), with a total building area of more than 2 million square meters. GXU boasts 25 schools, 24,017 full-time undergraduates, 16,751 full-time postgraduates, 2,785 part-time postgraduates, 1,271 international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and 10,967 students in various types of adult education. There are 3,321 faculty members, among whom 585 with senior professional and technical positions, 948 with associate senior professional and technical positions, two full-time academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 65 candidates for national major talent projects, and 23 recipients of special allowances from the State Council.

GXU offers a full range of disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, administration, arts and the like. It has 38 first-level disciplines and 68 undergraduate programs, of which 15 adopt enrollment methods according to 7 major categories. Up till now, GXU has one "World-class" construction discipline, two "Co-construction first-class discipline groups”, two national key disciplines, one national key (cultivation) disciplines, 12 Guangxi first-class disciplines, 46 national first-class undergraduate specialities. 9 disciplines including engineering, material science, agronomy, plant and zoology, chemistry, environmental science or ecology, biology and biochemistry, computer Science, and earth sciences are ranked in the top 1% of the global ESI. Moreover, there are 19 first-level discipline PhD programs, one professional PhD program, 38 first-level discipline master programs, 25 professional master programs and 14 postdoctoral research stations in GXU.

• Content of Scholarship

1. Free charge of application fee, tuition and dorms on campus.

2. Living stipend

3. Comprehensive medical insurance ( see details of the insurance on the website: www.csc.edu.cn/laihua）

4. Students shall be responsible for their expenses of transportation.

5. Actual information depends on relevant files issued by CSC.

• Accommodation

Accommodation is available on campus. Ph. D candidates will stay in single room. Master candidates will stay in quad room.

• Time for Application

Applicants should submit the application simultaneously to GXU's online application system and to  lxs@gxu.edu.cn before 15 February, 2026.

Please do not send hard copies to us.

Format of the e-mail title should be "CSC + Major + applicant's full name"

• Qualifications of Applicant

1. Applicants should be mentally and physically healthy.

2. Applicants should be non-Chinese citizen with the experience of living, studying or working in the domiciliary country for over 10 years.

3. Applicants should respect and observe the laws and regulations in China.

3. Education background and age limit:

- Applicants for master programs should possess a bachelor’s degree and should be under the age of 35.

- Applicants for doctoral programs should possess a master’s degree and should be under the age of 40.

4. Requirements for language proficiency

- Applicants for programs taught in Chinese language should at least have past the HSK4 test before the application.

- Applicants for programs taught in English language (some doctoral programs) shall at least have scored 6.0 in IELTS or 80 in TOEFL before the application.

- Priority will be given to the applicants with better language proficiency.

• Language of Teaching

Only a few programs can be taught in English, especially programs of sciences and engineering. Applicants should confirm with us whether the chosen program can be taught in English.

• HOW TO APPLY?

Please follow the steps below to apply:

1. Applicants should sign up in the website of Chinese Government Scholarship and apply online first. (linkage: www.csc.edu.cn/laihua).

2. Sign up and log in to write the application and submit materials.

4. Send us the digital docuemts by email to lxs@gxu.edu.cn before February 15, 2026. Format of the mail title should be "CSC+Major+applicant's full name"

5. After the above application and materials have past our review, the Pre-admission Letter will be issued and you may upload it in the CSC application.

6. Please make sure the required information and documents are provided truly, correctly, and completely. Application will be denied upon any false information.

• Approval and Notification

1. Guangxi University will review all the application materials. The qualified applications will be forwarded to China Scholarship Council (CSC) who makes the final decision.

2. Scholarship applicants accepted by Guangxi University will be officially awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship with endorsement from CSC and submitted to Ministry of Education of China( MOEC) for the record.

4. Students are not allowed to change their majors, or the duration of study specified in the Admission Notice after registration.

5. The result of application will be announced around late July. Applicants will be informed by e-mail. The awardees of scholarship will be given Admission Notice and visa application form (JW 201 form).
