The 6th International Symposium on Governance Experience of Marxist Political Parties concluded successfully in Vientiane, Laos. The symposium was co-organized by Guangxi University (GXU); the Lao National Academy of Social and Economic Sciences; the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences; the National University of Laos; Shandong University; Vietnam Philosophical Association, and was hosted by the School of Marxism, GXU; the Institute of Contemporary Socialism; Shandong University and the Faculty of Social Sciences, National University of Laos.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Fang Lei, (Director of Institute of Contemporary Socialism,Shandong University & Editor-in-Chief of Contemporary World Socialism Issues.)

Distinguished speakers at the opening ceremony included: Xu Qinfa—Assistant President of GXU and Dean of the School of Marxism; Dexanourath Seneduangdeth—President of the National University of Laos; Pham Van Duc—Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Philosophical Association and former Vice President of the Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences; Dao Savan Khemisi—Vice President of the Lao Academy of Politics and Public Administration; Bishnu Rijal—Central Committee Member of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist); Kongkeo Xaysongkham—President of the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences.
Du Changqing, Director of the Political Division of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, and Nguyen Thanh Huy, Education and Culture Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, also attended the opening ceremony.
The symposium, themed "Marxist Political Parties in Governance: Experience and Prospects," brought together nearly 200 experts and scholars from Laos, Vietnam, Nepal, as well as domestic universities and research institutions to jointly explore the theoretical innovation and practical exploration of Marxist political parties in governance. The symposium featured three sub-forums where participants focused on discussions around the following topics: "Localization of Marxism: Theoretical Innovation and Cultural Inheritance", "Governance in Socialist Countries in the New Era: Theory and Practice" and "Global Governance and the Community with a Shared Future for Mankind: The International Responsibility of Marxist Political Parties."
During the symposium, the School of Marxism at Guangxi University and the Faculty of Social Sciences at National University of Laos signed a memorandum of cooperation, marking a new stage of collaboration between the two institutions in deepening academic exchanges, theoretical research, and joint talent training.

It is reported that the School of Marxism at Guangxi University, as one of the organizers, is the only council member of the World Political Parties Think Tank Cooperation Alliance in Guangxi. In recent years, it has successfully hosted five international symposium on "Governance Experience of Marxist Political Parties", and actively conducted theoretical research on the China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future; studies on China-ASEAN national governance and political party building. The school focused on building a new think tank platform with significant influence in the theoretical research and practical innovation of the China-ASEAN Community with a Shared Future. The school has also established joint talent training mechanisms with foreign universities and research institutions such as the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Hanoi Pedagogical University of Vietnam, the National Institute of Social and Economic Sciences of Laos, and the National University of Laos, contributing to the theoretical research and practical exploration of the China-Vietnam, China-Laos, and China-Nepal communities with a shared future.
