On November 7, Xiao Jianzhuang, Vice President of GXU visited the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Nanning and held talks with Consul-General Benjamas Tanvetyanont. The two sides discussed deepening educational cooperation and cultural exchanges between Guangxi University and Thai higher education institutions.

Benjamas Tanvetyanont welcomed Xiao Jianzhuang's visit and expressed appreciation for GXU's efforts in promoting China-Thailand friendship. She emphasized that the Consulate-General would continue to play a bridging role, fully promoting the deepened cooperation between Thai universities and GXU, and jointly exploring innovative cooperation models in areas such as talent cultivation, joint education programs, and poverty alleviation projects. She looked forward to both sides further strengthening teacher and student exchanges, scientific research collaboration, and academic resource sharing, promoting the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and carrying out more substantive cooperation in emerging fields such as think tank exchanges, artificial intelligence, and green technology, to contribute to regional sustainable development.
Xiao Jianzhuang introduced the achievements of long-term cooperation and exchanges between Guangxi University and Thai universities. He pointed out that the year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, a milestone year connecting the past with the future. Guangxi University has always actively served the national diplomatic strategy and is committed to promoting educational and cultural exchanges with Thailand. Guided by the 15th Five-Year Plan, the university will continue to advance high-quality international cooperation and exchanges, promote collaborative innovation with high-level Thai universities, continuously expand cooperation areas, enhance the level of cooperation, and jointly cultivate talents needed for future social development, ensuring the continuity of China-Thailand friendship.
Both sides agreed on the importance of seizing the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations, using educational cooperation as a vital link to continuously deepen mutual trust and collaboration. By strengthening people-to-people and cultural exchanges and non-governmental friendship, particularly enhancing mutual understanding and trust between the youth of the two countries, they aim to inject enduring momentum into building a China-Thailand community with a shared future.
