GXU Delivers Invited Keynote at the 2025 Guangxi–Taiwan Education Forum

Recently, the 2025 Guangxi–Taiwan Education Forum was held in Guilin. Yao Zuofang, Assistant President of Guangxi University (GXU), attended the forum and delivered an invited keynote speech entitled “Advancing the ‘AI+’ Initiative to Promote the Digital and Intelligent Transformation of Higher Education.”

In her address, Yao noted that the rapid development of artificial intelligence is reshaping numerous industries and profoundly transforming the structure of the labor market. While AI has expanded the temporal and spatial boundaries of education and enhanced resource sharing and personalized instruction, it has also given rise to new digital divides and ethical challenges. In response, she emphasized the need to adhere to principles that are people-centered, application-driven, innovation-oriented, and ethics-based. She called for coordinated efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure, enhance digital literacy among faculty and students, improve governance of computing power and algorithms, and deepen cross-sector collaboration, with the aim of building a well-regulated digital education ecosystem that advances both equity and quality.

Yao further introduced GXU’s recent progress in digital transformation. The university has established a campus-wide digital foundation and computing power center, enabling coordinated governance across major domains such as academic affairs and scientific research. GXU is actively creating new educational spaces, models, and learning experiences for the AI era, and will continue to deepen the integration of AI and higher education to contribute to the high-quality development of higher education.

The forum was jointly organized by the Guangxi Autonomous Region Teacher Training Center and the Taiwan Association of Cultural and Educational Exchange, and hosted by Guangxi Normal University. More than 260 experts and scholars from both Guangxi and Taiwan participated in the event.
