GXU President Xiao Jianzhuang Extends New Year Greetings to International Students

On December 31, as the New Year approached, Xiao Jianzhuang, President of Guangxi University (GXU), met with representatives of international students to exchange greetings and celebrate the New Year. Yu Wenjin, Vice President of GXU, also attended the event.

During the event, Xiao spoke with the students individually, learning about their academic studies and campus life. He extended the University’s care and New Year wishes, and encouraged the students to learn more about China’s New Year traditions and experience the festive atmosphere and cultural richness. Sharing his own overseas study experience, Xiao encouraged the students to cherish their time at GXU, pursue academic excellence, actively engage in scientific research, and fully integrate into the GXU community. He expressed hope that, whether they choose to continue their studies at GXU or return to their home countries in the future, they would remember GXU’s support and serve as ambassadors of friendship and bridges for cultural exchange between China and other countries.

The international student representatives expressed their appreciation for the warm greetings and support from the university leaders. They noted that GXU provides an inclusive academic environment and rich opportunities for cultural engagement, and said they would make the most of their time at the University, pursue their studies with dedication, and contribute to promoting mutual understanding and people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries.

Zhou Meie, an international student from Vietnam, shared that her father had previously studied at GXU and that her younger brother is now studying Chinese at the University alongside her. She said that in the coming year, she hopes to further apply her expertise in international Chinese language education to promote exchanges between Vietnam and China.
