On January 22nd, a delegation led by Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (hereinafter referred to as "VNU-USSH"), visited GXU. Professor Xiao Jianzhuang, President of Guangxi University, met with the delegation and chaired the subsequent discussion meeting. Mr. Yu Wenjin, Vice President, accompanied the delegation on their campus tour.

President Xiao Jianzhuang extended a warm welcome to the delegation and reviewed the long-standing history of cooperation between the two universities. He emphasized that Guangxi University shares a special historical bond with Vietnam's educational sector and has a deep-rooted and enduring cooperative foundation with VNU-USSH. In recent years, the two institutions have maintained close collaboration in multiple fields within the humanities and social sciences, establishing a solid basis for further expansion of cooperation. President Xiao expressed the hope that both sides could deepen collaboration in areas such as joint undergraduate training, co-supervision of graduate students, mutual faculty appointments, and the application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, working together to create a model platform for Vietnam-China humanities and social sciences exchanges.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan thanked Guangxi University for its warm hospitality and spoke highly of its disciplinary development and educational achievements. He also provided an update on the recent developments at VNU-USSH. Rector Hoang Anh Tuan stated that his university is currently focusing on strengthening its applied disciplines and actively expanding into emerging fields such as data analysis and artificial intelligence. He expressed anticipation for further increasing the scale of student and faculty exchanges with Guangxi University, promoting joint research initiatives, and jointly cultivating high-quality talents to contribute to Vietnam-China exchanges and cooperation.
During the discussion meeting, both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including joint student training, faculty exchanges, research collaboration, and the establishment of a regular communication mechanism.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited the former site of the Nanning Yucai School (Former Vietnamese Students' Training Center), as well as the School of Public Policy and Management, the School of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and the School of Economics. Yu Wenjin briefed the delegation on the historical evolution of the Nanning Yucai School and the cooperation between Guangxi University and Vietnamese higher education institutions.
