GXU Hosts 2025 “International Chinese Language Day” and Traditional Chinese Culture Experience Event

On April 20, the 2025 “International Chinese Language Day” and Traditional Chinese Culture Experience Event, co-organized by the National Language Promotion Base (Guangxi University) and the School of Liberal Arts, was held at the GXU Student Activity Center. Over 700  Chinese and international teachers and students joined the event.

Themed “Grain Rain Nourishes Eternal Grace, Chinese Bridges Connect Global Hearts”, the event aimed to guide students to appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture, strengthen cultural literacy, and foster youth development. Performances included tea art dances, Tai Chi performance, and poetry recitations. The performers used silk fans to evoke the charm of Jiangnan and martial arts to interpret traditional philosophies, earning thunderous applause. The event also featured 15 experience zones, such as calligraphy, New Year painting rubbings, and dialect interactions. Chinese and international students dressed in Hanfu, the traditional clothing of the Han Chinese people, and immersed themselves in the activities.

GXU has hosted the “International Chinese Language Day” event for six consecutive years, building a bridge for cultural communication and exchange among Chinese and international teachers and students, and promoting cultural connectivity and integration. In recent years, GXU has annually organized students, from the major of international Chinese language education and other majors, to serve as Chinese language volunteers in Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and other regions. They carry out practical activities such as teaching the Chinese language and promoting Chinese culture. These initiatives, rooted in the foundation of cultural awareness and confidence among young students, are enabling China’s outstanding traditional culture to shine on the global stage in the new era.
