Guangxi University Hosts First “Future Agroforestry Scientists” International Summer Camp in Forestry

To promote the deep integration of forestry education and industry between China and ASEAN countries, enhance academic exchange in forestry and ecological fields, and support the development of the university’s New Agriculture disciplines, Guangxi University recently hosted the first “Future Agroforestry Scientists” International Summer Camp in Forestry. The event was held in collaboration with Guangxi State-owned Qipo Forest Farm, Nanning Tree Garden, and the Tropical Forestry Experimental Center of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, and invited faculty and student representatives from Vietnam National University of Forestry.

The summer camp featured academic lectures and field visits. Faculty from the School of Forestry delivered specialized lectures on topics including: “Mortise-and-Tenon Structures in Rosewood Culture,” “Modern Forest Management and Sustainable Development,” “Overview of Guangxi Forestry Development,” “Dual-Carbon Pathways and Policies,” “Forest Ecosystem and Resource Management,” and “Biodiversity Conservation and Ecological Restoration.”

The event was hosted by Guangxi University and organized by the Office of Academic Affairs and the School of Forestry. It marked the first international exchange under the China–ASEAN Agroforestry Education and Industry Integration Alliance, initiated by the university, and represents a significant step forward in the alliance’s development. The program is expected to strengthen educational cooperation, promote industry-education integration, and advance high-quality development of the agroforestry sector between China and ASEAN countries.

Officials from the Office of Academic Affairs, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and the School of Forestry attended the opening ceremony.
