From August 21 to 24, the 9th National College Students’ Integrated Circuit Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (IC Innovation Competition) was held at Shanghai Ocean University. Guangxi University teams delivered outstanding performances, winning 1 national first prize, 2 third prizes, and the highest honor of the competition—the “Jingyeda Cup” Corporate Award, which is granted exclusively to the top first-prize team of each cup. This achievement marks the best result ever for universities in Guangxi. In addition, our university received the Excellent Organization Collaboration Award.

The IC Innovation Competition is industry-driven, focusing on core technology areas. Top companies set competition challenges covering chip design, chip applications, the semiconductor industry chain, and innovation & entrepreneurship outcomes. Launched in March 2025, the competition attracted over 7,400 teams from 517 universities, involving more than 21,000 students and 4,400 mentors. After preliminary rounds and regional finals, 662 teams advanced to the national finals. Among them, 134 teams won first prizes, 200 won second prizes, and 313 won third prizes. For the Jingyeda Cup, 42 teams reached the national finals, with 1 Corporate Award, 8 first prizes, 13 second prizes, and 17 third prizes.

As the most prestigious A-class competition in the IC field, the IC Innovation Competition is organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Since its inception in 2017, it has become a core engine for promoting breakthroughs in domestic chip technology and cultivating talent, having nurtured over 64,000 high-level professionals for the industry.
