From July 20 to 24, the 11th Chinese Undergraduate Physics Experiment Tournament (Teaching Session) was held at Sun Yat-sen University. Guangxi University sent three teams with a total of four students to participate in the competition and won one National Second Prize and two National Third Prizes, marking the best performance among all universities in Guangxi.

This year’s competition attracted over 400 student participants and more than 200 instructors and experts from 122 universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The tournament was held simultaneously in the Guangzhou and Zhuhai divisions, with each zone featuring independently designed problems—specifically, two basic-level experiment problems and two comprehensive-level experiment problems. Each university could send up to four students to complete two basic experiments and one comprehensive experiment. The competition adopted an on-site problem release and time-limited experimentation format.

The Chinese Undergraduate Physics Experiment Tournament(CUPET), launched in 2010, is co-organized by the Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Educational Institutions, the Research Association for Experimental Physics Teaching in Higher Education, the Physics Teaching Committee of the Chinese Physical Society, and the Physics Experiment Subcommittee of the Ministry of Education’s College Physics Curriculum Teaching Steering Committee. As China’s largest undergraduate physics experiment discipline competition, it aims to stimulate students’ interest in physics and physical experiments, enhance their creativity, interdisciplinary knowledge application, and practical skills, and promote reform in university physics experiment teaching. It serves as a platform to evaluate teaching effectiveness, integrate foundational knowledge with comprehensive education, and cultivate top innovative talents. The CUPET Teaching Session is held every two years by invitation only. Guangxi University earned its qualification through outstanding performances in recent CUPET Innovation Session competitions.
