The 2025 "Hongdawei Cup" South China College Chemical Engineering Design Competition & 19th National Undergraduate Chemical Engineering Design Competition South China Regional Finals, hosted by the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China and the China Chemical Education Association, recently concluded at Jishou University. Guangxi University's team "Yizhan Fengshen" (Advisors: Li Jing, He Yan, Liu Haibo, Su Tongming, and Chai Kungang from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; Team Members: Liu Ruizhuo, Nie Xing, Zhang Jianwan, He Yingchang, and Liao Jinjun from the Chemical Engineering and Technology major) advanced to the finals and won the First Prize. The team also received the Outstanding Award for "Modern Design Method Application," while Guangxi University was honored with the "Outstanding Organization Award."

The National Undergraduate Chemical Engineering Design Competition is the highest-level and most influential annual event for chemical engineering majors in Chinese universities, with the aim of cultivating students' innovative thinking and engineering practical abilities while enhancing the quality of talent development in chemical engineering higher education. The South China regional competition received 318 entries from 75 universities across five provinces: Hunan, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Fujian. Following evaluation by the competition jury, 66 teams advanced to the finals. The awards included 12 Special Prizes, 36 First Prizes, 18 Second Prizes, 3 Special Category Awards, 1 Best Organization Award, 1 Outstanding Organization Award, 1 Outstanding Enterprise Award for Collaborative Education, and 2 Outstanding Individual Awards for Collaborative Education. In this year's competition, Guangxi University entered 7 teams and received the regional "Outstanding Organization Award" for the first time.
