GXU Co-hosts Academic Symposium with Hai Phong University of Vietnam

Recently, the international academic symposium themed "Language Teaching and Research in the Digital Era: Integration and Development" was held in Hai Phong City, Vietnam. The event was jointly organized by Guangxi University, Hai Phong University, the University of the West of England, and other international partners. Xiao Jianzhuang, President of GXU, attended the meeting online and delivered a speech.

Xiao Jianzhuang pointed out that in recent years, our university has continuously optimized its cooperation mechanisms, establishing a multi-level and broad-ranging collaborative network with Vietnamese universities in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, sharing of educational resources, and cultural exchanges. Notably, cooperation agreements have been signed with multiple Vietnamese institutions, including Hai Phong University, focusing on practical collaboration in fields such as Marxist theory research, promotion of agricultural and forestry technologies, cross-border trade and economics, think tank development, and exploration of Red resources. These efforts have yielded fruitful results and fostered increasingly close interpersonal exchanges. He expressed hope for further deepening cooperation in digital education, joint research, and youth student exchanges in the future, aiming to strengthen the foundation of China-Vietnam friendship and contribute to regional educational development.

Over a hundred experts and scholars from various countries and universities engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as foreign language education and research, applied linguistics, and translation studies in the digital era. Faculty and student representatives from the School of Foreign Language of GXU shared their insights on intercultural translation, digital transformation in language education, cross-linguistic rhetorical comparison, and corpus-driven discourse research.
