Recently, the 2026 National U23 Freestyle Wrestling Championship was held in Nanping, Fujian. Tang Guangjuan, a 2023-class student majoring in sports training at the GXU School of Physical Education, won the runner-up in the women's 65 kg category.

The competition drew top young freestyle wrestlers from across the country, with fiercely intense matches. Tang remained poised, fought bravely, and, thanks to solid technique and strong will, advanced to the final. In the final, she adjusted her tactics and delivered steady performance under high-pressure, ultimately earning the silver medal.
The National U23 Freestyle Wrestling Championship, organized by the Chinese Wrestling Association, is the premier national event for athletes aged 23 and under (and older than 18). It also serves as a key platform for selecting wrestling talents for the national team. This year’s event gathered outstanding young athletes from all provinces and municipalities, with high competition intensity. Tang Guangjuan’s silver medal marks the best-ever result for GXU at the National U23 Freestyle Wrestling Championship.
