6 Golds and 1 Silver! GXU’s Student Guan Hanzhi Achieves Outstanding Results on the Asian Stage!

Recently, the 2025 World Underwater Federation East and West Asia Fin Swimming Championships and Youth Fin Swimming Competition were held at the Zhanjiang Diving Sports School of the General Administration of Sport of China. Guan Hanzhi, an undergraduate student majoring in Sports Training (Class of 2023) from the College of Physical Education of GXU, represented the Chinese fin swimming team and secured an impressive haul of 6 gold medals and 1 silver medal. He also broke one Asian record and one national record, bringing honor to our country.

The competition featured 148 athletes from 11 countries and regions, including China, India, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Tajikistan, China Hong Kong, and China Macao, showcasing the diverse vitality of fin swimming in Asia. After four days of intense competition, Guan Hanzhi achieved the following outstanding results:

1st place in Men's 100m Fin Swimming, 35.40  

1st place in Men's 200m Fin Swimming, 1:22.77

1st place in Men's 200m Swimming with Diving Apparatus (breaking the Asian record), 1:12.09

1st place in Men's 4x100m Fin Swimming Relay, 2:28.06

1st place in Men's 4x200m Fin Swimming Relay (breaking the national record), 5:43.56  

1st place in Mixed 4x100m Fin Swimming Relay (Men & Women, Single/Double Fins), 2:50.76  

2nd place in Men's 400m Swimming with Diving Apparatus, 2:55.48
