School of Mechanical Engineering's Agricultural Machinery Team Visits Lao National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute for International Cooperation Talks

Recently, a delegation led by Professor Yang Wang from the School of Mechanical Engineering of GXU visited the Lao National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI) for a follow-up exchange, aiming to deepen international collaboration and enhance the efficiency of technology promotion. During the visit, the team from the Guangxi Major Science and Technology Project "Demonstration and Transfer of Full-Process Mechanization Technology for Cassava Production in Laos," chaired by Yang Wang, conducted a four-day demonstration and training on fully mechanized cassava production equipment in Xayabury Province and Vientiane, Laos.

The delegation held discussions with SIRIPHONH PHITHASOUN, Deputy Director of the Lao National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute, and other relevant department heads. Yang Wang introduced GXU's research achievements in the field of intelligent subtropical agriculture and forestry machinery, as well as the research and application of mechanization for key subtropical agricultural and forestry crops such as sugarcane, cassava, fruits, and eucalyptus. He also proposed the establishment of a China-Laos International Joint Laboratory for Agricultural Machinery Research. SIRIPHONH PHITHASOUN expressed agreement with the proposal and emphasized the hope to expedite the establishment of the joint laboratory, the application for international cooperation projects, and the exchange and training of personnel.

The project team also visited the China-Laos Crop Variety Testing Station at the Lao National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute.
