A six-member education delegation from Cambodia visited Guangxi University (GXU) on December 20. The delegation was led by Mr. Song Soksan, Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education Management at Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and Ngy Laymithuna, President of Kratie University. Zhao Shuangliang, Vice President of GXU, met with the delegation and chaired a symposium.

Zhao welcomed the guests and noted that GXU places high importance on cooperation with Cambodian higher education institutions. He said GXU is ready to leverage its strengths in agricultural sciences, mechanical engineering, food technology, and animal & plant disease control to explore deeper cooperation with Kratie University. Potential areas include joint research platforms, talent training, laboratory development, and collaborative research projects, with a view to promoting academic exchange and supporting regional development.

The delegation thanked GXU for its warm reception and expressed interest in expanding practical cooperation in agricultural and forestry science and technology, faculty and student exchanges, and postgraduate education. Ngy Laymithuna noted that the two universities have maintained cooperation since signing a memorandum of understanding in 2016, and expressed hope that the visit would mark a new stage in bilateral collaboration.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation priorities and implementation pathways, and reached preliminary consensus on the framework for future cooperation.
