On the evening of January 4, the second leg of the 2025 Guangxi College Basketball Championship final, concurrently serving as the 28th Chinese University Basketball Association League (CUBAL) Guangxi Regional Championship final, was held at Guangxi Normal University. GXU's men's basketball team ultimately claimed the championship by defeating the Guangxi Normal University team with an aggregate score of 167:161.

In the first leg of the final on December 30, 2025, our men's basketball team hosted Guangxi Normal University at the Main Campus Comprehensive Gymnasium. Demonstrating consistent the excellent performance throughout the match, our team secured a 93:76 victory. The game attracted an audience of over 4,000 faculty members and students from GXU, creating a fervent atmosphere filled with continuous cheers and enthusiastic support. Prior to the game and during intermission, captivating cheer-leading performances, traditional dragon and lion dances, and interactive prize repeatedly fires the crowd's passion, fully showcasing the united and spirited character of the the members of us.

During the away game on January 4, our players displayed continued resilience. Facing hard against, they maintained control of the scoreboard through adaptable tactical arrangements by the coaching staff and cohesive teamwork, ultimately securing the overall final victory.
Throughout this tournament, under the guidance of Head Coach Cheng Shaofeng and Assistant Coaches Chen Jiahao and Chen Keliang, the team demonstrated unity, high morale, and a steady, determined approach. Their tenacious fighting spirit, outstanding technical and tactical prowess culminated in this final victory, earning honor for GXU.

It is reported that the next stage of the 28th CUBAL First League will take place in the first half of 2026. As the Guangxi regional champions, GXU’s men's basketball team will advance to the Southwest Division. There, they will compete against teams from other provincial universities for qualification to the national tournament and the title of "King of the Southwest."
