On the evening of December 26, the “A-Super Night”of the AI Empowering Industries Super League was held at Guangxi University. Chen Gang, Secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of the Autonomous Region, attended and delivered remarks. Wei Tao, Chairman of the Autonomous Region, attended.

At the event, the digital twin “Chen Gang” interacted with the audience and answered questions, sharing insights on trends in AI development. The digital twin “Wei Tao” summarized and commented on the outcomes of the “A-Super” League, winning repeated rounds of applause.

In his speech, Chen Gang noted that Guangxi is thoroughly studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference; earnestly implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourses on artificial intelligence and on work related to Guangxi; seizing major opportunities such as the national initiative to popularize AI capacity-building; actively embracing the AI era; and focusing on what the nation needs, what Guangxi can deliver, and what ASEAN expects. Guangxi is working in concert to build a development pathway of“R&D in Beijing–Shanghai–Guangzhou + integration in Guangxi + application in ASEAN”, strengthening AI cooperation with ASEAN countries, vigorously advancing AI empowerment across all industries, building a China–ASEAN AI industrial ecosystem, and accelerating the establishment of an AI international cooperation highland oriented toward ASEAN.

Chen Gang stated that in an era of rapid AI growth, everything is changing and new possibilities abound. AI is a double-edged sword: while it boosts efficiency and improves lives, it may also infringe on privacy and trigger algorithmic bias; moreover, some criminals exploit AI for online telecom fraud. Guangxi’s AI agenda is focusing on personal AI development and ecosystem co‑creation driven by intelligent agents, leveraging the China–ASEAN Center for Cooperation on AI Applications to jointly advance China–ASEAN AI safety governance; simultaneously advancing the China–ASEAN AI Safety Demonstration Center and supporting parks; deepening “AI + anti-fraud”cooperation with ASEAN countries; and promoting the formulation of AI safety standards and norms commonly recognized across ASEAN countries. Next year, on the basis of the“A-Super”League, Guangxi will co‑host the“AI Transformation Joint Competition for Hundreds of Industries and Thousands of Enterprises”, and cordially invites more enterprises, universities, and teams from home and abroad to participate, so as to jointly accelerate AI innovation and application and work together to serve the building of an even closer China–ASEAN community with a shared future.

It is understood that this year’s “A-Super”competition was unprecedented in scale, with activities spanning 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across China as well as 11 ASEAN countries. It featured 20 tracks closely aligned with economic and social development needs, attracting 10,447 teams from home and abroad, including 604 teams from ASEAN. After competition, a total of over RMB 74 million in projects for open-call “list-and-assign” mechanisms was formed; 93 exemplary competition scenarios and 202 new technological exhibits emerged; 40 projects garnered initial interest from investors; 57 technologies entered transformation and application pipelines; and a number of enterprises reached cooperation agreements with ASEAN partners.

The “A-Super Night” was replete with highlights, showcasing AI’s appeal in innovative formats. At the outset, on-site guests used a digital scent player to jointly launch an immersive “AI Guangxi” journey created by the themed short film “Guangxi Has AI.” Subsequent segments—Co‑Narration of Intelligence, Super Roadshow, Moments of Honor, Strategic Releases, Future Rhythms, and Qinzhou Moment—unfolded in sequence. Among them, the “Super Roadshow” became a concentrated showcase window of scientific and technological achievements, featuring eight outstanding projects in succession, covering social governance, intelligent manufacturing, public well-being, cross‑border trade, and more. “Moments of Honor” unveiled the three core “A-Super” awards: the “AI Innovation Spark Award,” the “Guangxi Most Promising Award,” and the “ASEAN Future Unicorn Award.” During “Strategic Releases,” a series of cutting-edge industrial achievements and new products were unveiled. In addition, the themed exhibition of “A-Super Night” was held concurrently.

Attendees included regional leaders Chen Yijun, Xu Yongji, Lu Xinning, Zhou Yijue, and Zhong Dezhi; representatives from the Consulates General of ASEAN countries in Nanning; principal leaders of CPC committees or governments of all prefecture-level cities; responsible officials from relevant regional departments and central agencies stationed in Guangxi; leading figures from the AI industry; representatives from key universities, research institutes, well-known enterprises, industry associations, and investment and financing institutions; as well as participating teams in the AI field.
